How do I prepare for a tan?
Preparing before a spray tan is crucial. What you do can mean the
difference between a good and a bad spray tan.
Exfoliate before you go for a spray tan. The spray tanning solution affects only the dead skin cells.
Your skin has a build up of dead skin cells on top of it. The thicker the layer, the sooner it will rub off.
If you exfoliate, the layer will be very shallow, and it will take a while for it to “build up”.
Your tan will last longer. It is best to use exfoliators that are especially made for tanning industry,
as they will not contain any oils or moisturisers, and so will not stop the tanning solution getting through.
You can purchase these products through HOT BODEZE spray tanning.
Tanning Tips
Pre Tan Preperation
For best results thoroughly exfoliate your skin before hand paying extra attention to dry areas like knees,
elbows and feet. Remember that the skin completely replaces itself every 4-5 weeks. You want to effectively
remove any dead skin and expose the fresh, new skin cells underneath. This will help the skin absorb the solution
better, enabling the tan to last longer and fade more evenly. All shaving should be done 24hrs prior.
Do not wear any deodorant, moisturizer or makeup before spray tan.
After Care
We recommend you wait at least 8hrs before showering. You should also avoid swimming and any exercise
that will cause you to perspire, until you have showered. On your first shower only pat dry your skin, do not RUB!
Keep the skin well moisturised twice daily. Try to avoid exfoliating the skin at all until the tan begins
to fade naturally.
What's in the solution?
First, there is bronzer (food colouring) so I can see where im spraying.
Secondly, the main ingredients are dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and Erythrulose, both naturally occurring
fruit sugars which react with the amino acids in the top couple of layers of your skin to die them brown.
Finally, there are high-end moisturizers to help preserve your tan and draw it deeper into your skin as
well as a green tea extract which prevents the tan from feeling sticky.
How long before I can shower or workout?
I recommend you wait at least 8 hours before
showering or working out to allow your tan to develop. Many people choose to wait until the next morning
to have a shower, the longer you wait, the darker your tan will get and the longer it will last.
How long will my tan last?
It should last a minimum of 5-7 days. However, with proper
moisturisation, some people have reported longer durations of 8-10 days.
What if I'm getting a pedicure, or being waxed?
It's best to have your pedicure BEFORE
your tan or the DAY AFTER your tan (once you've showered) otherwise, the pedicure may wash off some of the
tan on your legs if have it on the same day.
Any waxing should be done at least a day before your tan.
Do you offer spray tanning to men?
Yes I do offer tanning to men. Since my partner is a
body builder he likes to get sprayed at competition time. Men look so good with a tan, and spray tanning for
men is the easiest way to get the look. This great effect must have something to do with the ability of
the tan to accentuate muscles, especially the abdominals.
